Rest & Be Thankful 2000 Monymusk Rum 21 Year Old
Bottle Image May Vary
Until it was sold in 2012, we had represented the iconic Bruichladdich distillery on Islay. We frequently drove from Glasgow to catch the ferry to Islay and passed the beautiful Rest and Be Thankful on the A83.
The origins of this evocative name always fascinated us and we learnt that it came from a stone inscription made by soldiers as they completed construction of the old military road in 1753 ; a road out of Glen Croe that was so long and steep that it was traditional for travellers to rest and repose at the highest point.
Upon hearing of this, we knew there could be no better name of our whiskies and rums – they should be slowly savoured and enjoyed and invoke that sense of“
Rest and Be Thankful”
